Special Cinema – Down Syndrome

We have been contacted by Dr Patwardhan in regards to a new film:
Below is details of the film:

Please note this is an indian film with English subtitles.

“Yellow” is inspired by a true story. Gauri, a girl born with down syndrome. Her dad an ambitious man, who fails to accept the fact that his daughter is ‘Special’, and disowns her. Gauri’s mom, Mughdha is stranded all alone with the responsibility of raising her daughter without any support from her husband. Mughdha, determined to raise her daughter and make sure she gets dignity and respect in this society, relocates to her brother, Shridhar’s place. Shridhar, a god fearing simpleton is the source of positive energy in Mughdha and Gauri’s life. With the realization that a normal school is not appropriate for a special child, Mughdha enrolls her daughter in a special school, and things begin to change for good. Yellow is fun, Yellow is positivity, Yellow is an inspiration. Yellow is an attempt to answer the oft asked question ‘What happens to my child after me?’. Every child has a unique ability and as a parent one should explore this with patience and determination. Success, respect and dignity will follow.

If you or someone you know is interested in attending this screening it will be on Sunday 15th June @ Ilford Cineworld.
Places are limited so you you would like to attend please contact Dr Patwardhan on 07956524213.
