As with most services, in light of the Coronavirus and Government advice we will not be open at our office.
Staff will be working from home. But don’t panic, we will still be in touch, sending out information and keeping you up to date.
You can leave a message on our answer phone but please understand it may take us time a little longer than usual to get back to you.
Stay safe and stay in touch. The Redbridge Forum Team.
We are a charity organisation based in Redbridge and our aim is to help improve the quality of life for people with a learning disability and their carers, including those on the autistic spectrum.
We are based at 98-100 Ilford Lane. We offer information and signposting along with the following projects;
At present we run 2 projects for children; ‘Fun 4 All’ and ‘Butterflies’. Both offer activities for the Child with a disability and the immediate family during school holidays.
We have two projects helping people move towards employment. ‘On Target’ helps people with a learning disability and/or on the autistic spectrum over the age of 17 years and/or their family carers who want to move closer to employment. We offer training such as group work, assertiveness and how to do a job search along with some developmental work helping people to progress their skills, make a cv, practice their interview skills. Our newest project starting in April 2020 will offer support to those people transitioning from Children’s to Adult services. Help with filling out forms, and again developing skills, attending an interview or opening a bank account for example.
We offer support for our members accessing the internet, along with other IT skills. We may be able to offer some help with form filling for people with a learning disability.
We support people with a learning disability to speak up for themselves and help to organise speak-up groups for adults with a learning disability. We also meet with carers to find out what they think about services in Redbridge. We sit on the Redbridge Learning Disability Partnership Board representing our members.
If you require any further help- please call us at our office. If we are unable to help we will try our best to put you in touch with someone that can.
